Kaleigh is also part of the unsolved case project at WVU as an undergraduate researcher. It is important for Kaleigh to stay involved within her program and university. Therefore, she is part of the board of Mi Gente, the Latin X organization here on campus, part of the Forensic and Investigative Science Club, and part of the SecureWVU program. Kaleigh is anticipated to graduate in May 2025 and pursue a career with law enforcement, concentrating in the forensic investigative aspect. In addition, Kaleigh has volunteered as an intern at the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office during her Spring 2023 Semester. She was able to work with deputies on special cases, rode along with Sheriff deputies on afternoon shifts, experienced how roles and functions work in the magistrate court, and shadowed how transport units work. She grew up in New Jersey with parents that originate from El Salvador, having spanish as her first language growing up. She uses her bilingual skills to immerse herself into the dynamics being presented to her in our University. Kaleigh strives to help out the communities here on campus and give her fullest potential to the Forensic and Investigative Science Department.
